Two Ways to Buy

Business software comes two ways: boxed retail copies that ship in a physical sleeve, and digital licences delivered by email or account. Both are legitimate. The right choice depends on how you run your business. Boxed software gives you a physical asset you can shelve, inventory and reassign, and it works well when you need a receipt for accounting and a licence key you can find again.

Digital licences are faster to deploy and easier to renew, but they require discipline: someone has to record the key, the assigned user and the renewal date. For a single user, either works. For a ten-seat deployment, we recommend tracking every licence in a simple spreadsheet with purchase date, assigned user and expiry.

Our Advice

For most small businesses, mix both. Use boxed copies for permanent, long-running seats; use digital licences for short-term projects and temporary staff. We supply both and can help you keep the record straight.

Frequently asked questions about boxed vs digital licences

Choosing the licence model that fits how you operate.

Which is more secure, boxed or digital?

Neither is inherently more secure; the risk is losing track of the entitlement. Boxed gives a physical key to file; digital needs a register of key, user and renewal. Both are legitimate from authorised sources.

Which suits a ten-seat deployment?

A tracked model: boxed for physical-asset discipline, or digital with a strict register. Either works if someone owns the record; the failure mode is the licence nobody can find at renewal.

Can digital licences be reassigned?

Often yes within publisher terms, especially under volume agreements. We advise the rules per product so reassignments stay compliant.

Do you help consolidate scattered licences?

Yes. We can produce a consolidated licence summary per order and advise a simple register so renewals and reassignment stop being a scramble.
